FIRE SAFETY: A BIG RESPONSIBILITY
If you are operating a business on a premises, you share equal responsibility with the landlord for fire safety.
No doubt you have a fire safety policy, but is it up to date? Are you following legal guidelines and best practice?
Your local fire and rescue service has the authority to visit your premises to make sure legal regulations are being followed, and they can issue fire safety notices if they find anything amiss.
PUTTING STEPS IN PLACE
It is far better to avoid this situation in the first place. As the business owner or responsible person, you are obliged to carry out a regular risk assessment. You also need to communicate to staff to make sure they are aware of any risks, put fire safety measures in place and maintain them.
You are also obliged to have plans in place to deal with emergencies, and to provide fire safety training.

FCS can help you with every aspect of your fire safety requirements from advice to training. We deliver courses in Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Management. Training is available either on your site or at the fully equipped FCS Training Academy
