Course Aim

The aim of our Asbestos Awareness course is to educate individuals about the risks associated with asbestos exposure and how to safely manage situations where asbestos may be present. Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fibre that was commonly used in building materials for its strength, heat resistance, and insulating properties.

Course Summary

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fiber known for its heat resistance, strength, and insulating properties. Despite its usefulness, asbestos poses serious health risks when disturbed, releasing microscopic fibers into the air that, when inhaled, can cause significant health problems, including lung cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestosis.

Course Description

Our Asbestos Awareness course educates individuals about the risks associated with asbestos exposure and to provide them with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely identify, manage, and work around asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). The primary objectives of the course include:

  5. Typical Locations
  6. Duty to Manage Asbestos 
  7. Identifying the Risk

Half a day

Who should attend?

Anyone who works in or around buildings constructed before the 1980s should consider attending asbestos awareness training to recognize asbestos hazards, understand safe work practices, and prevent exposure to asbestos fibers.

Certification

Delegates will be awarded a certificate of attendance on successful completion of assessment.
