Course Aim

The aim of the IOSH Leading Safely course is to empower senior leaders and executives to take proactive leadership roles in health and safety, integrate it into the organization’s strategic decision-making processes, and drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance to create safer and healthier workplaces.

Course Summary

IOSH Leading Safely is a training course offered by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) aimed at senior leaders and executives within organizations. The course is designed to provide these leaders with the knowledge and understanding necessary to effectively manage health and safety within their organizations and to integrate it into their overall business strategy.

Course Description

IOSH Leading Safely course equips senior leaders with the knowledge and tools to drive positive change in health and safety management, fostering a safer and healthier workplace environment.

Our course covers:

  1. Part One – Leadership Characteristics and Competencies: Considerations for Effective Leadership.
  2. Part Two – The Broader Context: Workbook Appendix, Corporate Manslaughter, HSWA Section 2 & 37, Fee for Intervention, Disqualification as a Director, Integrated Business Approach, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility, Responsible Investment Funds, The Human- Centred Organisation and Brand Management.
  3. Part Three – Benchmarking Current Performance: Your Journey Gap Analysis, Diagnostic Questionnaire, Questionnaire Responses, Models of Safety, Achieving Compliance and Beyond Compliance.
  4. Part Four – Improving Performance by Building Capability: Sphere of Influence, Your Leadership Competencies, Building Capability and Culture, Reputation, Resilience and Results.
  5. Part Five – Applying Leadership Safety and Health: A Case Study Exercise and Life Saving.
  6. Part Six – Action Planning: Your Personal Commitments.
