The aim of the ITSSAR 10 Day Instructors Course is to equip participants with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to become certified Instructors /Examiners for operating a variety of industrial equipment and machinery.

Course Description

Become registered and certified on the ITSSAR National Register of Instructors. Our 10-day ITSSAR Instructors course is a comprehensive training program designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to become proficient instructors/Examiners in operating industrial equipment. Throughout the course, participants delve into various aspects crucial for effective instruction and workplace safety. Key components typically include:

Course Requirements

10 Day Instructors course candidates must have a minimum of 12 months counterbalance operating experience and will be required to provide us with a copy of their certification. Candidates also must have undertaken a Refresher course to national standards within 6 months of attending this course. At First Class Safety we are able to offer candidates wishing to attend our Instructors course a refresher course at a discounted rate.

5 Day Re-Registration and Direct Entry course candidates must provide us with their tutor number and a copy of their instructors certification.
If your Instructors certification has reached it’s expiry date, please contact our administration team to discuss arranging an extension with ITSSAR if you book onto our course.

Assessments and Monitoring

Throughout this course candidates are continuously assessed during the training to ensure that candidates are engaged and learning throughout the course duration. Assessments take various forms such as as practical demonstrations, written tests, oral quizzes, and simulated scenarios. By continuously evaluating delegates, our tutor will identify areas where additional support or clarification may be needed, enabling them to tailor the training to meet the specific needs of individual candidates.

The course will be externally monitored by qualified Training Advisors from ITSSAR.  External monitors, who are independent of  First Class Safety, review the course content, delivery methods, assessment procedures, and overall adherence to ITSSAR standards. Their presence helps to ensure that the training meets industry benchmarks, regulatory requirements, and best practices for instructing individuals in the safe operation of industrial equipment.

Course Manuals

Each delegate is provided with a range of operational and instructional manuals, this includes the ITSSAR compendium.

The ITSSAR (Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register) Instructors compendium serves as a comprehensive reference guide for ITSSAR training standards, requirements, and guidelines related to the instruction of industrial equipment operation.

Our ITSSAR Instructors course tutors are experienced professionals with in-depth knowledge and expertise in industrial equipment operation, instructional techniques, and safety standards. They play a critical role in delivering high-quality training to our course delegates, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to become proficient instructors in their respective fields.

Accreditation, Registration and Certification

Upon completing the 10-day ITSSAR Instructors course, candidates receive a Certificate of Registration to certify that the candidate has met the prerequisite standards of ITSSAR and will be registered as a Category 1 Instructor/Examiner. They will also receive a ITSSAR Instructor ID badge and a instructor number.

Instructors will be required to attend a 5 Day refresher course every 5 years.
